Chanta’l Lillie

Chanta’l Lillie is an Associate Attorney at Sears Bennett & Gerdes, LLP and a proud native of Houston, Texas. Her deep connection to the city and the support of her close-knit family have been central to her journey, shaping both her character and her approach to client service. Chanta’l credits her loving parents for instilling the values that guide her practice—respect, dedication, and empathy—principles she now extends to every client she represents.

After graduating with honors from Hampton University in 2012, Chanta’l gained valuable legal experience working at a prominent ad valorem tax firm. She then attended Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 2018. While in law school, she served as Managing Editor of the Thurgood Marshall Law Journal on Gender, Race, and Justice, participated in the Street Law program teaching high school students about the legal system, and held a leadership position on the board of the Black Law Students Association.

Following law school, Chanta’l practiced in several areas of law—including family law, probate, estate planning, and civil rights—before bringing her skills and passion for service to the field of community association law. At Sears Bennett & Gerdes, she represents a range of communities by assisting with the interpretation and drafting of governing documents, and by resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation when necessary.

Outside of the office, Chanta’l enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and taking her beloved dog, Princeton, to the park. As a licensed Texas attorney, she remains committed to delivering efficient, people-centered legal solutions for every client.
